Scholarships for 50+ yr old single women

My mom has recently become divorced and she needs a way to support herself but since she has spent the last 20 or so years out of the workforce raising children she does not have the greatest resources. She is looking to return to college but cannot afford the steep expenses

Does anyone know of any scholarships for women in her situation?

Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship

“Leading the Future” Scholarship

Talbot’s Women’s Scholarship Fund

She should talk to an advisor at her local community college. Not saying she has to attend that school, but they are often very well versed in aid available for non-traditional students. I know in our area there is special funding from somewhere for “displaced homemakers” which is targeted to women exactly in your mother’s situation. However, a lot of this will vary from place to place because of state and local programs available.

thanks I will tell her to look into that
