Scholarships for college students

I'm looking around for scholarships, and I'm finding that most of them are for high school seniors who will be college students next academic year. Can someone direct me to ones that are for continuing college students? If it helps, I am an engineering student in New York state. I had high test scores and grades in high school, but my GPA in college has been mediocre (3.5).

Are you an international student? There are lots of government scholarships (you have to work for them). I have no idea when the deadlines are, you may have missed them. Otherwise fastweb.com

Unfortunately, as you have found out, most scholarships are given out to incoming freshmen (with many being renewable for succeeding years) and relatively few new scholarships are given out to non-freshmen.

Have you talked to any of the counselors in your school's Financial Aid office? They would be a good source of information about potential scholarships. They could also advise you of any other types of financial aid that you might qualify for and are not receiving now.

I am not an international student, and I've already looked through the big scholarship sites.

I will try to see if the financial aid office has any suggestions. I have already asked them for more money, as my parents lost their jobs this year. (I won't hear a decision for another two months, though.) Having always been low income/high-need, I'm afraid I've already been receiving all that is available to me.

Also, would anyone happen to know of competitions that give cash prizes? My current job alone won't pay for all of my bills...
