Scholarships for current undergrads?

I'm a freshman in college and with winter break coming up I'd like to look for scholarships to apply to. I applied to a handful as a senior and won one $2,000 scholarship. My financial situation got a bit worse over the past 6 months so I really want to help myself and my family out by trying my best to apply and earn some more scholarships.

I'm having a hard time finding scholarships for college students though. I realize the majority are meant for high school students. I signed up for Fastweb but it only matched me to one scholarship.

Does anyone have a list or website recommendation on where I can find scholarships that a college freshman is eligible for?

I’m in the same situation, and honestly, I even asked my financial aid adviser and she said the school im attending has scholarships, but chances of me getting it is slim since I’m only a freshman. But she did recommend me some advice on applying to ethic scholarships.
Since I’m Asian, I was able to find some scholarships that are offered only to Asians.
So if you’re a minority, look for those scholarships! or if you’re not, slim down to few categories where you can be fit. good luck!

As a continuing student, the best places to look for scholarships are often through the academic departments of your school.

dpsu I too am a minority. Care to share where you have found these ethnic scholarships? :)

And entomom thank you for the suggestion, however I am likely transferring for my sophomore year and just for that reason I’d like to look for outside scholarships.

The best thing you can do is find a job over the break and bank your earnings.

Thanks for the suggestion, already got that covered with a part time job :)

Scholarships would be the next most beneficial way to spend my winter break since I already have a work schedule for the next few weeks.

My main ones are actually from local churches, and if you’re methodist by any chance, apply scholarships through united methodist church website. Once you apply a general form, they’ll probably sort you out to the ethic scholarship. I received this last year. Another national one would be apiasf. They just allowed new applicants!

Thanks. APIASF doesn’t look like it’s for current undergraduates though. And unfortuntaely I am not affiliated with any church. Appreciate your help though and good luck to you!

Does anyone else have any other websites or resources where I can find scholarships that I am eligible for as a current college freshman?

What is your major? Corporations and professional organizations offer many scholarships tailored to career interests for undergrads.

finance. where could i look to check for any business scholarships? i havent done anything related to my major yet though if the requirements might call for that.

bump any other suggestions? :)
