i plan on eventually becoming a high school drama teacher. i'm planning on probably double majoring in education and theatre.

does anyone know any scholarships/grants for students who plan to eventually become teachers? i've heard of some, but most require you to eventually pay off your debt by becoming a teacher in a high-need field... which doesn't include drama.

I think there are programs to forgive % of student loan debt for each year, up to 5, of teaching in a high needs school. Problem -- many high needs schools cant afford drama classes -- so you may have to double major in english and drama and actually teach english. Good news -- many of the high needs schools are in urban areas which have lots of arts.

Have you checked into scholarships at your high school? Sometimes school administrators give scholarships to kids who are thinking of going into teaching.
