Scholarships for foreign students

Hello. I am a ninth grader and i am interested in attending an ivy league school. However because I am a foreign student, i am questioning my chances of being accepted to one. So what extra measures should i be aware of or take to increase my chance of acceptance. And also i was wondering if any ivy league schools offer ANY kind of financial aid to foreign students. Thank you!

This is just the financial aid forum, so it isn’t the right place to discerns how to strengthen your resume.

Yes, all Ivy League schools offer financial aid to foreign students based on what they think you need. Your family is still expected to contribute and you can expect it to be possibly 20% of your income. It is extremely difficult for international students to get into an Ivy. they often only take one per country or 10 in some so they would expect you to be one of the best or most promising in your country or region.

I’ll respond to the financial aid part only. First…you have to get accepted to one of the these highly competitive schools…which accept less than 10% of applicants and maybe less than 5% of international applicants. Their financial aid policies do you no good unless you are accepted.

Most of these schools are need aware for international students, so your ability to pay will be considered when your application for admission is reviewed.

IF, and I mean IF, you get accepted, and your family has significant financial need, your need will be met AS THE SCHOOL CALCULATES IT. Some of these schools are more generous than others, and include all personal expenses and travel. Others do not. All will expect a student contribution of about $3000 or so freshman year…and this increases each year.

I am well aware of the competitions and that is why i am seeking advice. Thank you for all the comments. Next time i will be sure to choose a proper category placement.
