i've spent 15+ looking for scholarships for juniors, i've found a few but the deadlines aren't for another 5+ months. I am an African-American High School Junior, but whenever i type that into google i get nothing specfic, and when i go to the scholarship databases they give me stuff for seniors. Since im not doing anything big this summer i want to use the extra free time to fill out those essays. Anybody similar to me who knows of some unknown scholarships which hasa summer deadline(or sept-nov). A search database with very spefics match-ups would be very helpful. fastweb has alot of results but whats the point if you can apply for them?

I used FastWeb my junior year and found a lot of good matches, but unfortunately most of the deadlines were in Spring. Are you going in to school next year AS a junior? If that's the case, find those scholarships (through fastweb or other search engines) and just start early. It doesn't hurt, and when the deadline comes up, you'll thank yourself.

Here are the ones I did in my junior year last year

DuPont Challenge (January)
AFSA Essay Competition (March)- won honorable mention
AAA Travel Challenge (January-May)- won state finals and got $1000
Ayn Rand Essay Contest (April?)- haven't gotten results yet

And I think you can do the Bridgestone Safety Contest which is due next weekend. Go to Fastweb and look it up!
