Scholarships for minorities?

I was wondering what are some good scholarships to apply for if your a minority, I googled some but did'nt find anything that looked legit.

The Gates scholarship is great. See [::. The Gates Millennium Scholars .::](http://www.gmsp.org/)

What minority group are you a member of? Knowing that would help posters make suggestions. Also, I checked your other posts and see you are a current college student. That’s important info as well as many scholarships unfortunately limit applications to graduating high school students. I see you want to go into nursing. I’m posting that here as it may help others come up with scholarship suggestions targeted towards minorities in science-related fields or health care fields.

Here is a link I’ve been sent for African Amercian scholarships, but most if not all that I checked out require that you are also in financial need.

Here’s a page with some nursing scholarships: [Scholarship and Internship Programs-Brookwood Medical Center-Birmingham, AL](http://www.bwmc.com/en-us/ourservices/communityservices/pages/nursing%20scholarship%20program.aspx)

Tylenol offers a scholarship for those entering the health care field. It doesn’t look like the application for this is out yet.
Well I’m African American If that helps. Thanks for the replies.

Check out Ronald McDonald House Charities. They have a Future Achievers scholarship that’s only for African Americans. They also have scholarships that are for Hispanic and Asian students.

Is the GMS extremely difficult to get without perfect stats? I have great stats, but they look mediocre compared to a lot of people on this forum.

True, but make sure your county is listed as one of the approved locations. Mine isn’t :(

I don’t know if this will make a difference, but the OP won’t be an incoming freshman; she’ll be a transfer student.

I know that many scholarships are for incoming freshmen only.

^ Yes; for the Gates

“Will be enrolling for the first-time at a U.S. accredited* college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student”

Also note for the Gates…

the…“Meet the Federal Pell Grant” eligibility criteria…Just sayin…
