so, i've heard both good and bad things. I know UCB has a cheaper tuition than most schools ($20,000 a year wit housing-give or take a few thou-) but i keep hearing it from my mom ("private school better than berkeley- it public!!" and "private school gonna like smart spic better and give more money") and that they're lest likeley 2 give scholarships and what not, but i've heard different things from different people.

So, how are scholarships at cal, good bad (are they cheap greedy bastards, or do they want you 2 afford it).

also, how are cal-grants and fafsa, pretty good with givin' out cash ( again i've heard good things and bad, but nothing very detailed)

let me know.

thanx

btw-hispanic, good grades, single mom, w/e, just planning 4 jah futur

just how good are your grades?

if they're good enough, you might be eligible for the Regents and Chancellor's Scholarship in which case you wouldn't have to pay anything

Or if u live near UC Berkeley some schools have an agreement offering incentive awards that give you a free ride for all 4 years.

well, my grades are good, 4.3 (UC gpa) lotsa great and leadership (sports studnet council etc. EC's um... i don't wanna list and w/e my counselor says he'd be realllly surprised if i dint get in, and um... decent SAT's (m:610 v:690 w:640) (span:700 u.s.his:750) and around top of my class

i live in socal, so thats out

Are you ELC? ELC students have a 60% admit rate at Cal. You shouldn't have much of a problem getting in, as long as you aren't applying to CoE.

Because stories are worthless without any examples:
CalBears scholarship - $7500. That's enough to cover my tuition.

However you're SATs are a bit low, lower than mine, granted they are from the new version.

CalGrants and Federal grants have nothing to do with Berkeley. You'd get the same at any school as long as you qualify.
