I got acceptance letter in mail today. How long until I know about scholarships or if I got into the honors program?

I got accepted to honors the same time I got accepted to the university, and got a scholarship like 3 weeks later

Do some people get accepted to honors later? Is it harder to get into honors for engineering? I have 34 ACT, 4.2 GPA, will I probably get in?

Twins127…My guess would be with your stats you stand an excellent chance of making it into the Honors program. D1 had all her application materials in to U of Minn by 15 Oct. Her online status showed her acceptance on 10 Nov and her acceptance letter arrived in the mail on 13 Nov. Some folks showed Honors acceptance online in the application tracker, but D1’s page still doesn’t show that. She received Honors notification by mail about 10 days after her acceptance letter. Her scholarship offer arrived in the mail on 6 Dec. Not sure if her timeline matches up at all with anyone else’s, but it might at least give you something to guesstimate by. Congrats on your acceptance and it’s my guess you’ll hear from Honors in another week or so. Good Luck on the scholarship offer as well. Are you IS or OOS? Are you a NMSF?

For College of Liberal Arts: Acceptance on 11/15, Honors on 12/1 and nothing yet on Scholarship.

In state, not national merit

Twins127…I should’ve guessed your were IS…Twins. Unhappy Tigers fan myself. I’m sure you’ll get your Honors invite soon, and merit aid will depend a lot on what your class ranking is. You’ve probably already seen them, but U of Minn has several nice merit scholarships for IS students in the top 5% of their graduating class. Based on your solid stats I’m confident you’ll get offered at least some amount of merit aid. Good Luck!!
