I just got admitted today to mechanical engineering. I have a 34 ACT and a 4.0 UW GPA. Do have a good chance of receiving a decent amount of merit money?

Here is what CU has to say:

My son had the same stats - got zero. Admitted. Received multiple merit scholarships elsewhere including full rides and full tuition. From what I’ve seen on here - it’s hard to tell with CU merit.

Thanks…and when do you know if you received any scholarships? I have seen my admission online but have not yet got a letter.

my son got his scholarship offer in the mail about a week after he was notified online. He also has the same stats and was offered the Chancellors scholarship. We were disappointed. There was a post on the admitted thread with a 32 ACT and 4.2 GPA that was offered a presidential scholarship but was not in engineering. CU is his top choice but he also has much better merit scholarship offers elsewhere.

Its seems quite unpredictable but I guess I will keep my fingers crossed!

good luck! I would love to know how you make out.

I got the letter today and I did receive the Presidential Scholarship as well as an offer to join A&S Honors!

Congrats! Makes me even more disappointed my son did not receive the presidential since he has the same stats. Its his first choice but many not be doable without a bigger scholarship

So far my S with similar stats was offered a $2k engineering merit scholarship. Came in about a month after acceptance via snail mail. Funny because he’s been offered much more merit money from more competive schools. Go figure.
