I was wondering if anyone knew about scholarships for out of state students. Do they have special ones? Do they compete for the regular scholarships? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't know if they have specific schoclarships for out-of-state students, but here's the link to all the scholarships they have: http://depts.washington.edu/specserv/scholarships/ You should also look into the little scholarships in your hometown that are offered by organizations like Rotary. A couple of $500 checks can make a big difference. One girl in my son's class got about 10 of that type of small scholarship -- it all adds up! For sure you won't get it if you don't apply.

Not very many scholarships in this school even for residents. My son was a National Scholar, had a 3.8 GPA, won several Science awards, was invited to the Scholars Invitational, was selected (1 out of 18 kids in the state) for a summer pre-med program offered by the school of Medicine at the end of his junior year, had a SAT (before they added the writing part) of 1560 and ACT of 32. The only scholarship he received was from their Minority organization for $1500.00
