Scholarships to "stay home"?

lot of great answers. going to cross-post this on ASU forum to catch opinions of those over there.

ASU, as well as other schools, are starting to attract these high-performing in-state, engineering, students to the Barrett and honors colleges. Much like Alabama (wow, full tuition based on 34 ACT and 3.83 gpa). My son is leaning heavily toward Alabama Honors for the full scholarship and extensive Co-Op program…that is after we see how Yale, Texas Plan II, Mudd, Duke, Georgia Tech and Dartmouth play out. But in this historical moment, grad school is a must for high performers and I agree with the above poster not to waste undergraduate $ on a name with limited ROI. Yale or Cal Tech will be calling for grad school. This is a great time for merit scholarships with public honors colleges.
