Hi everybody!

I was wondering if anyone knows any good scholarships that are purely based upon merit, volunteer, or extracurricular activities, and not on financial need. Thanks!

Coca Cola.

IMO the easiest big merit scholaships are those offered by colleges and universities. With the internet and easy searches, the competition for the big scholarships like Coca-Cola is enormous (someone does win, but it is difficult).

Take a look at this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/52133-schools-known-good-merit-aid.html

Thanks for the reply! My kids have already finished applying to colleges so we are still waiting to see if they will get merit aid, but now we have turned our focus to outside scholarships. Do you know any scholarships that are coming up in the next couple of months that would be good to apply for? They know about the Lowes/Best Buy, but if you know of any others, that would be great!

Bump

Sorry, I’m not quite sure what that means…

JCmom–Bump just means that someone else is interested in input on this topic, so they just type bump so that there is input on the thread and it gets back into the feed.

Oh ok! Thanks.
