Scholarships

I was admitted to OSU in November, to honors a couple weeks later. I have not received any info about the merit money. I have the stats to receive some money 1460/2230 super scored, 1410/2170 single sitting, 4.0 UW GPA, Top 2%, good ECs…
I looked at the website - I qualify for Provost Scholarship

The Provost Scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to qualified Columbus campus students admitted for autumn or summer quarter. Those considered rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating classes and have ACT composite scores of 29 or higher or combined SAT Critical Reading and Math scores of 1300 or higher. Excludes recipients of the Maximus and Trustees scholarships. Students must apply for admission by December 1 for consideration.

and hopefully, I will qualify for NMF Scholarship. They sent me the HOSA application, too. Some of my friends have gotten merit awards already… will I get any?

I’m not sure. I also have not heard anything about merit scholarship results, only for the Morrill scholarship.

Thanks for replying carmelita13. I know I’m 10 points below maximus, but will I get the provost?

I wish I knew, I also qualify for the provost. I know that I can combine my morril scholarship with the provost so I hope I get it.

I just received the provost yesterday so I think if you qualify you’ll get it.

sara12

location: ohio ------> ‘hopefully’ small LAC

maybe that message came through in other ways, too

D received notification today that she has received the Trustees Scholarship.

Did they mail it or post it online?

She received a letter in the mail. We checked her online account and it has not been posted there… Based on the qualifications listed on the OSU site, it appeared she qualified for the Trustee’s with a 28 on her ACT, but thought since the scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis she’d have to wait until after the FAFSA deadline to receive a notification.

Son also received a letter in the mail yesterday for Trustees Scholarship.

your stats are better than mine and i recieved provost…

@cammac - did you submit SAT scores? perhaps you qualified for provost based on those - 1300+ CR/M?

lol yeah…i have a 1360 reading/math but im just saying that sara should be getting some sort of scholarship since her stats are better than mine and i got like 11k/year

1360 and i just got 9.9k/year
would have gotten 11k, but i got my 1360 in december. whoooops (im from out of state so trustees and national buckeye)

You guys are getting a ton of money from tOSU! Cammac, what did your 11k consist of? I.e. what were the scholarships?
I’ve gotten 2400/yr for provost. Hopefully, since I’m a national merit finalist, I’ll get some for that, too.
^^^^^caolila - I don’t think level of interest impacts scholarships for GPA/test scores.

i got national buckeye+provost

sara12…If you haven’t already, you may want to check with the scholarship people at OSU regarding the amount of their Distinguished Scholarship for Nat’l Merit. According to their website, NMF’s in the top 10% of their class and designate OSU as their #1 choice with NMSC are given priority consideration for a half IS tuition scholarship ($4863/yr). But the note in the scholarship description states:

Note: The amount of any other university-wide merit scholarships awarded to a Distinguished Scholar will be included in the Distinguished Scholarship.

It also states that the value of the Nat’l Merit Scholarship (the $1-2K per year) is included in the value of the Distinguished. I hope I’m reading it incorrectly, but I think that means that they won’t add your scholarships individually but might lump them all together under the value of the Distinguished. Instead of you getting $4863 + $2400 + $1000 I think they might only give you the $4863 and say it “includes” the other 2 scholarships. Definitely worth asking the question I think.

Thank you Wolverine. I have to designate my first choice by March 1st, so I definitely need to look into the Distinguished Scholarship.
