SAT 800M, 800R, 730W
GPA 4.0 unweighted. Many honors and AP claases.
Nice assortment of ecs and volunteer work, but nothing stellar.
I think his essay was pretty good and assume his recs were also.

This earned him an offer of 25,000 from Loyola.

I heard from Loyola today…or at least I came home from a weekend of snowboarding to a very nice letter, so it could’ve come before today. $25,000 Presidential Scholarship.

Granted I don’t have as scary stats as multimom’s son does, but I guess they saw something worthwhile.

SAT: 700M 730R 730W
GPA: No clue whatsoever on a 4.0 scale - unweighted I’d say it was around a 97.
Gradual increase in honors/APs and have been a year ahead in some subjects.
Decent amount of ecs and my volunteer work would tie in with those ecs. (martial arts and volunteering at tournaments, environmental club and animal shelter, art, theatre, soccer, Greek dance, tutoring, and a few others.)
I’m going to assume my recs were strong seeing as I was close with both teachers and both were department chairs.
My essay…it was on books and how I played pretend when I was younger O.o

$25,000 a year
4.0 GPA
33 ACT
8 APs before senior year (3 more this year) & lots of honors classes
ECs- girl scouts, national honor society, & school literary mag but nothing really else
From long island

Nothing in MA…not too hopeful at this point. I contacted the college rep and she said some letters went out on Friday, but I would think they would have arrived by now. Kind of surprised, daughter got into the honors program at Loyola.

She also told me she could not talk about it over the phone or via email until after the end of this week.

Disappointing. I felt hopeful my son would be eligible for something. Solid student, good standard scores, 2 sports, eagle scout, extras, Jesuit connection …
