I just went onto the message board on the Quinnipiac website. Apparently most merit scholarships have already been distributed, but not all of them. As it stands now, my son received nothing. Fortunately, he received merit scholarships at 3 other schools. He is above the 75% for his sat scores. The catch is that he goes to a very competitive high school and it does not rank.

Yea I didn't get anything either and I also go to a very competitve high school which makes my rank look mediocre. Im hoping for some kind of money either scholarships or finacial aid.

My D's hs ranked and she did get some Merit ( I think more because of her SAT scores ) . My son's school does NOT rank - it's an inner city magnet honors school and I am curious what this means in terms of college selection of Merit Aid for prospective students ??

Do a lot of colleges depend on rank in class for their admission criteria? I am confused on this subject and GC at school is so overwhelmed to answer the phone .

I don't think rank is that much of an influence at Quinnipiac. One of my close friends has one of the biggest scholarships amount, $150000 i think? and she went to a high school that didn't rank either. Does your son's school give percentages? If they do that takes the place of the rank for admission or scholarship decisions.
