<p>Is there anyone on here who received a full scholarship to Washington University? I want to get a better idea of how competitive they are, how high test scores must be, etc. It'd be very helpful if anyone could give me more information about them. You can leave a post or PM me. Thanks!</p>
<p>My son applied but didn’t get one. I think that they are very competitive, but that us just my opinion- I don’t have anything to back it up. Son starts at WUSTL this fall- he’s extremely happy to be be attending.</p>

<p>I think there are only two available in each set of disciplines (2 in sciences, 2 in social science, 2 in humanities, etc.). So probably not just any HYPSM admits, but the most elite HYPSM admits.</p>
<p>Unless something has changed in the past year, there are more than two offered for each discipline. I would say about 4 each, although some have about 1 or 2 more depending on the year. </p>

<p>WashU offers multiple full and partial scholarships that are completely merit based. They have three university wide scholarships: Danforth, Ervin ,Annika Rodriguez and the rest are particular to your academic discipline. I am one of the Danforth scholars and I received a half tuition merit based scholarship.You must keep in mind that all these scholarships have separate applications and are very competitive. Most other Danforth Scholars were accepted to some of the Ivy League schools are other comparable universities.</p>

<p>asianas1 - to be more specific, the stipends here are typically a one time deal (per year). So you may get tuition + whatever covered, PLUS the stipend to cover expenses like flights or books or whathaveyou.</p>
<p>But yeah, as phanlon said, they are very, very competitive. For kids who have scholarships that include stipends, it’s something like less than 1% of students who attend (not 1% of the application pool).</p>

<p>My D applied for one of the full tuition scholarships, I cannot remember which. She had 2330 SAT, 3.92 UW GPA, numerous AP courses, etc. She did not get one. I think her year they awarded something like 4 full ones and 2 half ones, but that is only for the specific scholarship for which she applied, it was like the Moog or Mylonas I think. There are more than that, as has been stated above.</p>
<p>Anyway, my point is that you can see from the stats of those who got something and those who didn’t that these scholarships are exceedingly competitive (as they should be!), and are based a lot on stats but certainly there are other factors.</p>
