Usually what type of people get scholarships? Especially out of staters?

it seems like you have to be top10% w/over a 2250 and awesome ECs...

do people who have below that have a chance?

people who do well on their scholarship interviews

you need TOP SAT scores. When I interviewed I asked the adcom if I should really aim to apply for the scholarship deadline. He asked what my scores were, I told him 1350 old, 2070 new, and he said I probably wouldn't get a scholarship. I'd be better off taking more time on my application and applying a month later.

There is no difference between out-of-state and in-state... its a private school... (unless there is a scholarship for just CA kids... but I dont know of one)

the calgrant is just for us californians, but thats not through USC

i have to say that it really does not hurt to try. i am a presidential candidate so whether i will received the scholarship is up in the air.

i don't have fabulous stats. my sat scores are weak at best in comparison to other scholarship candidates. my ecs are medicore but i geniunely love and enjoy them. in all honesty, i think my essays and teacher recommendations gave me the edge.

twilight, if you don't mind sharing what are your stats? Not fabulous to you is probably a midnight dream for me HaHa. I'm counting heavily on my recs and essays and ec because my stats are nothing special, not bad, not great. right around mid-range.

Presidential Interviewee 31 ACT, 1390/2160 SAT Scores. I guess towards the bottom for scores, but other stuff makes up for it (and my retake they will hopefully consider). I'm sure they use scores as a starting point since they only have a little over a month, or something to that nature.

No, I am not one of those people who declare non-fabulous stats when they are actually very good.

SAT I: 1460/2100 (best composite)
SAT II: 760, 720, 770
GPA: 3.9 UW, 4.5 W (but i got 4.83 W for the first semester of my senior year)

See. Strange things can happen!

Oh wow. Thanks for giving me hope! I want to go to USC so bad, but without half to full tuition scholarship, there is no way that's happening.
