Scholarships?

I would love to go to Vanderbilt, but I have heard that they don't give many (if any scholarships). I would only be able to go here if I got a substantial scholarship. Based on my stats, could I get any money?

Will apply to School of Engineering.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!!

No one should count on getting merit from Vanderbilt. the CV, Ingram, and Chancellor’s scholarships are uber select, and no matter who you are (whether you have a 28 ACT or 36 ACT), it is likely that you won’t get it.

With a 32 ACT or a 2080 SAT, admission into Vanderbilt itself isn’t guaranteed, as a 32 is only the 25th percentile of Vanderbilt’s class. Engineering is particularly hard for many schools, with the standards being even higher than normal. I’m not sure if this applies to Vandy because I don’t have much interest in engineering, but it seems like a general rule that engineering should be a bit higher, stat-wise.

What you should focus on is

 1. Getting up the SAT or ACT. Your GPA is great, though.
 2. Get leadership
 3. Net price calculator. Get tax and asset info from parents, run the numbers, and see if Vanderbilt will be affordable for your family. Vanderbilt is supposed to be very generous with need-based aid and is stingy with merit aid unless you’re super special.

Yes, Eng is harder, but like many other schools they have an active program to recruit women interested in Eng. So you might get a break, don’t count on it too much however since it’s so very competitive. As other poster said, merit schol is not in your range, but depending on family need you might get some assistance, VU is quite generous there. Grades and high school percentile (or rank) count the most, typically.
