Hey everyone, I was accepted into Case Western. I was awarded a merit based scholarship. I was just wondering what the different levels of scholarships were and their individual awards.

How did you find out if you got any scholarship?

@bigbang111 my scholarship was in my acceptance letter.

I agree that there is quite a range - couldn’t quite figure out the criteria - especially the $22k to $27K range.

Many merit scholarships appear to a function of grades and scores. The higher they are, the higher the grant. Price/value at CWRU is pretty amazing if you get merit money as the undergrad population is only 4300 and the university is a major graduate research site with over 6000 graduates, so you get the exposure to research of a major university with the class size advantages of a small college. The criteria for keeping a scholarship are also reasonable. They want you to use it and graduate. Basically, you get a private university education experience for the price of a public university.

mmcdeb, CWRU cost of attendance is over $60k, 20-30K scholarships are very nice but balance is still substantially above public schools in local states. Of course it depends on what state you come from and CWRU may be a reasonable option for those that live in states without good public options.
