scholarships

For a long as I can remember I’ve known what I wanted to do with my life. Nursing has always been a passion of mine, in the medical field. In particular has interested me for some time. Dedicating my life to improving the lives of others is very appealing to me. After schooling is done, I plan on advancing to medical school to become an assistant nurse. I believe this program will offer me valuable skills that cannot be taught in the classroom.

Throughout high school and college thus far I have taken a rigorous curriculum and maintained a 3.5 grade point average. During high school I was involved in BPA, Student council, yearbook, civil air patrol. In addition, I volunteered at nursing home at Kalamazoo MI, this fall in patient transport. I am very familiar with and comfortable in clinical settings. I am responsible, focused, hard working and easy to get along with. I participated in class and at clinical and much more, I was a team leader when I was at Kalamazoo College MI, and it’s called MCTI. Studying in a foreign country was an experience unlike any I’ve had. The classes were challenging and I learn a lot in the classroom hands on. And I love doing study groups so it helps me and the others to be better good studiers and good for reading, on top of that I make flashcards to help me out so it helps me a lot to achieving this award in the nursing medical filed. I met many friends who I still keep in touch with. There was one thing I want to say I want to thank my Instructors for having me in their classroom it was an honor to be there. The Instructors teach me a lot thru this course without them I would not understand what they are saying. I plan to learn valuable skills that will one day make me a better doctor.

I graduate at a School in MI, I wont to study for nursing assistant. My family told me go what you want to go into, and follow your dreams. Then after college continue to go back to college to work my way up to becoming a doctor that is my goal in my life. I said to myself I will never give up I ask questions if I don’t understand something so I can understand it better for me down the road.

Strengths that I will bring to my abroad is on time work, college including leadership and social skills, refined to my care as a nursing assistant, personal hygiene clean and neat eye contact speak clearly. And have fun, you can be the next hero if you put your mind to it and love working with other people.

@Johnthon, Please be careful about posting so much personal information online.

I’m a little confused about your post. Do you have a question about getting scholarships? Are you an international student hoping to get into US medical schools? @mom2collegekids is a good person to ask if you need advice about that. I don’t think you need med school to be a nurse, though. Wouldn’t it be less expensive to attend med school in your home country?

Do you have a question?

If it’s not too late - edit out your name at the end of your post. Using the little wheel or cog in the upper right of your post. You have 15 minutes from when you posted.

People don’t go to medical school after school is done to become an assistant nurse.

Are you wanting to become a Certified Nursing Assistant?

Have you taken the ACT or SAT? What is your GPA? Are you a senior in high school? What kind of program are you in?

Can you clarify?

You’re finishing or have recently finished your bachelors? In what major?

Some kids and foreign families wrongly think that people “work their way up” from nurse to doctor. It doesn’t work that way here.

Usually, people with bachelors degrees do not become “nursing assistants”.

And, nurses don’t go to med school to become nurses.

What is your real goal? To become an RN? or to become a MD?

What will be funding your education? There would be little/no funding for you to go back to school to become a RN. There is little to no funding for an int’l to go to med school. In fact, it is very hard for an int’l to even get accepted to a MD med school, because few accept non-green-card and non-Canadian int’ls…and the int’l has to show full funding.

He is not an international student. He is in high school in Michigan. The reference to a college in Kalamazoo was likely for a summer program for high school students.

The confusing and strangely worded post, along with a reference to a college made it seem like he is a foreign student with at least some college completed.

@Johnthon - have you talked to your high school guidance counselor about vocational training, job goals/interests and scholarships?

.
Michigan Career & Technical Institute b
has provided training for adults with disabilities in Michigan since 1944.

I hope he comes back, because this is why I thought he was an int’l who studied here in the US…

what was the foreign country?

Maybe he meant foreign county?

You don’t go to medical school to become a nursing assistant. You can take a nursing assistant course at a community college to become a CNA…certified nursing assistant.

I will say, some folks do this, and then work as a CNA, and complete their four year degree, taking the prerequisite courses to apply to medical school. Or apply to a physician assistant program.

The OP seems unclear about what he actually wants to do…and how to get there in terms of schooling.
