Scholarships

Does anyone know whether invitations to the scholarship competition are sent separately from honors college notification and scholarship award? Also, are scholarships awarded all at once or is it possible to receive additional scholarship letters? D has only heard from the honors college and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s possible that she will receive additional scholarships.

D received all the info in one letter, honors, scholarship info and ADS weekend info, although the letter said the “official” ADS invite would be coming later. Letter dated october, received around November 6.

Yes, Honors College and Scholarships were received separately in a letter from the Honors College, However, I’ve heard there are still opportunities to received additional offers for scholarships later on.

@lovemygirls123 We are hoping that is true. D is sitting on a full ride to one of her top choices. Any school that doesn’t equal that or get really close will fall off the list quickly. She really likes MSU, so we’ll see. She’ll definitely do the ADS competition as it will also be her opportunity to visit.

in 2014, about 1,100 kids competed at ADS and 20 were awarded full rides. Avg ACT score was 35, SAT 1520 and GPA 4.2.

Looks like they expect to give 15 full rides this year. Another 20 kids get full tuition. About 95 other kids get $1500-$2500 per year for 8 semesters.
