I never really considered Duke seriously until was I was waitlisted at my first and second choice colleges and I never looked up the info or scholarships or applied to them. Do you still have opportunities to get merit based scholarships for sophomore year? If so, is there a page with more information on that? Thanks!

I believe all or most of the "merit" scholarships that you are referring to are only awarded to freshmen for a full 4 years. You don't need to specifically apply to any of them as they will consider your admissions application. Also, they don't reconsider non-freshmen. With that said, there are always minor scholarships that you can apply for at Duke and elsewhere, you just have to find them. They aren't strictly merit but should still fall into that category.

It is extremely difficult to receive or find one of these scholarships?

Not really, you'll occasionally get flyer, mailings, or emails about scholarships. I would also suggest fastweb.com, it's a good website that periodically emails you scholarship opportunities it finds.

Ah, thanks then! :)

mmm does Duke offer merit scholarships for sophomores and junior students?!
