alright, so when i applied to berkeley last fall, i really thought i had no chance of getting in, so i didn't apply for any scholarships. surprisingly, i did get in...but i got a horrible financial aid offer (my oos status didn't help much with that). what i want to know is if students are allowed to apply for scholarships after their freshman year at cal (or soph, etc.), instead of only during the application process while still in hs. anyone know?

I'd like to know this too.

Hm...I know that when you apply, you are automatically considered for any of the scholarships that they are offering. The only separate ones that you need to specifically apply for are the Berkeley Alumni scholarships...

i think there is also some sort of leadership scholarship and another type of scholarship that you apply for separately, because a few weeks after i submitted my application to berkeley, i received a couple emails suggesting that i apply for those scholarships

You can apply for the Alumni Scholarship as a second year student. There's info on the Berkeley website. The deadline is very late in the school year. It's the largest merit scholarship available to undergrads. There are a couple other nominal scholarships you can apply for... if you are looking for real money to cut sown on your OOS tuition, you should consider outside scholarships.

d=], are you talking about the miller scholarship?
