<p>I haven't checked Minerva, ever since I was accepted. But today I checked just for the hell of it and I found out that I got a minor scholarship of $5000! At first I thought I would barely get accepted (b/n 3.7 and 3.9 UW GPA and 1390 SAT), so is getting a scholarship a common thing? Or was I just lucky? If anyone else got a scholarship from McGill, please post your stats. What's the range of minimum scholarships? </p>

ok now for the real response, but i got a basic scholarship of 3000 because i didnt apply for the major scholarhip. kind of wanted to kick myself. they definitely increased the amount of scholarships available this year too.
but why does it matter what the stats of others are, you got the money and you can't change that... who cares? be happy with a fresh source of income if mcgill isn't too overrated for you.</p>
<p>Note: Never said that McGill wasn't a good fit for me. Never said that I hated it (except once, which was just to p iss off Bigtwix b/c he p issed me off when he set all those guideliness to reply to his thread). All I said, was that it is overrated. But I am done saying that b/c there is no point in bringing down a school I will probably attend. And I also have no right in giving an opinion about it since I don't really have an adequate perspective. </p>
<p>I am just curious about why I would get money from them when I surpassed the min. requirments by a pretty small margin. Just curious to see if like 50% of the class is gonna get money or something.</p>
<p>not many people get scholarships. Maybe it's all a consequence of campaign mcgill, but they're reputationally stingy with their money (they = mcgill).</p>
<p>ok so i know someone that, after he found out he wasn't accepted to his dream schools, applied to mcgill through the principal in april. i wonder if i could send in a late scholarship app and tell them that since i got a hefty scholarship from another school, tehy should reconsider my app. :P

<p>whoa I don't even know what is going on haha, but to answer the original question:</p>
<p>I got a minor scholarship of 3,000. Like syzonin, I kicked myself cause I didn't apply for a major scholarship. But I did apply for the US entrance bursary and got an extra 7,000.</p>
<p>Stats (does it matter?) - salutatorian, 4.32, 1350 sat</p>
