I received a scholarship from my school and I have to send a sheet to Michigan for them to confirm that I am registered. Are they going to take the amount of money I received for the scholarship out of my financial aid package? I've heard of some schools doing this but does Michigan?

If you have “need based” then, I think they do. (ie. loans). If it is ‘Scholarship/merit/grant’ type then they just add it all up. Anything over and above tuition (ie. room and board) is taxable at the student’s tax rate. We were lucky enough last year to discover that!
