scholarships

does anyone know how much they give for ib? i go to jcib (ranked number one public school a few years ago, now we're an elite school) and i should get my diploma (very few people from my school dont) i tookk 3 ib classes last year and 2 tests. i got a 5 on geo anda 5 on philosophy. im taking 6 ib classes this year and my teachers say i should get above a 5 on everything except german, which is just... weird at my school. i dont know if that info influences anything but i figured id tell you. Thanks!

jocool26, typically speaking we only give credit for scores of 5 or higher on higher level exams only. There are some exceptions, though, depending on the department. If you are admitted and choose to enroll we can work together with Academic Support to see what type of credit will be allowed.

oops! i think there was some confusion. i was actually wondering about scholarships speficially for ib. i emailed someone at the university and they just said ib scholarships were handled "internally." i really didnt even know what that meant. i ADORE rochester and we just did the need based aid calculator and we should get about 3500. ive also got national merit, so that helps a lot, but i still need more. my parents are really pushing for me to go to some of the schools ive been offered full tuition to (richmond being the main one). rochester right now is definitely my number one but i need to convince my parents. they're very thrifty when it comes to certain things (such as college)
thanks!

jocool26, sorry for the confusion! We have quite a few IB scholarships as high as $12,000 per year, but you would only be able to have one scholarship award through the U of R. So if you become a National Merit Finalist and put UR as your first choice school you would only get $22,000 per year. You cannot add or combine scholarship awards. Feel free to private message me if you have more specific questions.

do you find out about merit scholarships in the acceptance letter or in the financial aid package that is sent later?
