scholarships?

I was wondering if anyone on here had recieved a dean's or presidential scholarship and what your stats were? I know the school website gives some stats but I'm curious to see what people had to actually get them...Thanks to anyone who can help!

i got a deans scholarship

SAT
CR - 690
M - 690
W - 740
1380/2120

SAT IIs
Chemistry - 790
Math I - 690

edit - actually when i applied my writing score was a 640, i retook and got a 740 on the writing section in dec.

overall good scores, not SPECTACULAR. i've heard they don't dip below 1400 for scholarships, but for me they did. i'm guessing it's because my CR+M was an even spread (one of the scholarship requirements) and i've got the highest score in my school + my chemistry subject test

i got a dean's scholarship too (2230 SAT) but was assuming that sometime later this month we could get offered a higher scholarship like the Presidential with our financial package- is this true, somebody?

I got a higher SAT (2190) and SAT IIs (760 and 800) than Stephennn, but I wasn't offered any scholarships. I think grades actually weigh more heavily (which would make sense, as I have three C's).

It could be because you have like an 800 in math but like a 600 in cr....it needs to be an even spread. Doubt it was grades as I have 2 Cs in health and 8th grade Spanish and 3 Ds in gym lol. Subject tests aren't considered either. I'm sure you'll get something though.

if math and critical reading were like.. 40 points (which i say because i just took the sat's again and all my practice tests were about that number in difference) apart do you think that would be close enough to even?

yeah 40 points is extremely close. i'm just an extreme case where they were 0 points apart.

i'm just talking about like an 800 and a 600.

yepp jotc, i just looked at one of your threads (sorry for creepbooking you) but you have an 800 CR and a 590 M. you don't qualify for a dean scholarship.

(even though an 800 CR is extremely impressive, congrats)

Haha, I don't mind as long as you're feeding me info.
Which brings me to my next point - do you know if that requirement for an "even spread" is the Dean's scholarship or all scholarships? Because I am fishing for scholarships in a big way (I really want to go to Fordham but may not be able to do so without them).

i am pretty sure it's a requirement for the deans and presidential scholarship. a 1390 still isn't incredibly high(but higher than mine..), so it still probably wouldn't merit a presidential. i'm just guessing that for an even spread there would probably be x<100 points in between the scores.

still, i think you should/will get some scholarship, an 800CR & 800W deserves some sort of award. (and i'm assuming you're going into something non-math related...)

i hope you get something... good luck =D

If I got a 780 in math and a 660 in CR would that merit anything?

idk! i would say so. don't read too much into it.

my old scores were a 680 and a 680 but (again based on practice tests/ how the test seemed to go) im failry confidant my math is around a 720 and cr around a 770... it seems like a weird question but do you think my chances were better before i retook it because they were exactly the same? (writing was 770 but that doesnt matter as much for this scholarship i dont think)

... omg please. you guys are reading WAY to into this whole even spread deal.

like i said it's only in EXTREMELY uneven spreads such as an 800 and a 590 (which happen to be 210 points apart...)

of course you have better chances with a 720 and a 770, what kind of question is this.... like seriously.

as if fordham university only gives scholarships to people with the 700 CR + 700 M or 690 CR + 690 M

seriously, think about it. a 720 and a 770 is only 50 points apart, not 200. it's an even spread. geez guys, think a little.

I got a Deans scholarship. I have a 3.91, am 4/380 in my class, and 2180 on my SATs (660cr 730m 790w). Do they weigh extracurriculars at all? Because my stats are good but I didn't think they'd be good enough for a merit scholarship.

i got a dean's scholarship with a 780 M and 630 Cr (but i did apply under EA)

D was offered a dean's scholarship with these stats: 5th in class of 517, 34 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, National Merit Commended, editor & chief of yearbook, 3 AP's

DS was offered a full merit scholarship for 4 years. I'm not sure if this is tuition only or full as in full ride yet.

My daughter received a Deans scholarship (1450/1600 .... don't remember her exact writing score but it was not as high as either Math or CR).

Her GPA unweighted is 4.0, weighted is close to 5.0.....she has completed 4 APs (AP Scholar with Honors) and is taking 4 more.

With only a $10k merit scholarship per year it won't be an option for her......but we're hopeful and if she does get some more she may attend. It is a great school and it's in New York City!!

Jewels_08, was your DS a national merit semifinalist! cuz i am being offered a semifinalist full-ride as well but was really interested in the scholarship that includes room and so was wondering if you know about that one?
