are there any scholarships that the u won't offer you until you enroll?

also
i haven't received any scholarship offers yet. i know some people have already received some. i am from out of state so need to know soon if i will get any scholarships (that is the only way i can go to the u). what scholarships might i get?

stats:
1480/2110 sat
31 act
1/45 class rank
out of state (TX)
national merit finalist (i think. havent heard anything yet but i think you were notified if you did not advance)

I would imagine that you would get the National Gold or at least the National Maroon scholarship. National Gold covers the difference between instate and out-of-state tuition, and that's what I got. The Maroon one covers half of the difference. My SAT is a lot lower than yours, so I'd imagine that you will get on of those.

ok thanks. when did you get your scholarship?

I got the letter about 2 months after I was admitted. What college were you admitted to? I don't know for sure, but that might make a difference. If you're in Carlson, or one of the more selective colleges, it may be harder to get a scholarship like that than if you're in a less-competitive college (I'm in CLA).

oh ok im in carlson

Oh, hey guys, sorry to piggy back on the thread, but I just didn't want to start a whole new one. How are my chances for scholarships, and which ones?

GPA: 3.89
ACT: 34
Around top 11%
About 55 college credits
Accepted to CBS
In State
Pretty good EC's.

Also if I send in an essay or something, do you think that would boost my chances for good scholarships? Or is that only for admission?

^ I don't really know what scholarships you would receive, since I only really looked at the OOS ones. But with those stats, I'd assume that you'd get at least something....

My stats:
GPA(W): 4.5
SAT: 1820.... and to translate for you northerners, that about a 27 on the ACT ;)
Class rank: N/A
63 college credits
Accepted to CLA (political science)
Really good EC's
OOS (Florida)

I got the Gold National Scholarship, which is worth about $4000 a year. So if I got a scholarship, I'd assume that with your ACT you would have a really good shot at getting some aid. Sorry, I know my assessment is pretty vague, but I really do think that you will get some sort of scholarship. Good luck! =)

I'm out of state too! I hope i get something. What do you guys think?

Valedictorian
2000 SAT
39/42 IB points (we don't do GPA lol)
Pretty good EC's
Accepted to CBS (Biochemistry)

yayy I got the gold national scholarship that covers the difference between out of state and in state tuition. This definitely makes Minnesota a possible school for me next year. :)

My D just got notified of the Gold National Scholarship as well. 1990 SAT, 32 ACT, 4.0. As Gia89 said, this one is just for out of state and covers the difference between instate and out of state tuition (about $4,000 per year I think).

congrats guys! i hope i get that one too, im out of state also. do you think its possible? (my stats are posted above)
