So, at least for Ervin, money stuff comes out in "7-10 days". It's really frustrating!!!! Not only were they verryyyyy ambiguous about how many get full/half/nothing/other, but they were also really annoying about the keeping the percentage of finalists that get Ervin at all a secret. I understand somewhat, but has anyone been able to glean any information from the past years about how often people don't get full scholarships, etc.? I'm going to have all my acceptances/finan. aid come Tuesday, except WashU, and I kind of want to prepare myself in case I don't get the full lol.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m sure you’ll get something significant since you’re in the running. My D applied for several of their advertised scholarships and didn’t get any of them, but she did get a scholarship that covered more than half the $51K/yr cost.

I received my WashU financial aid last week. I received a scholarship I didn’t apply for, so maybe you may get the same opportunity. :)

Hahah they called me today and said I got the full…I worried for nothing!

Thanks for everything, guys!

Everyone who attended Scholars Weekend should hear this week as to the final outcome. The normal method of contact is a phone call.

congrats princessbell, I also got a call today for the full! I’m really excited to be a Bear next year! ST2, do you know if merit scholarships are accompanied by need-based financial aid, or do they replace need-based aid?

Depending on the situation, need based aid can and is awarded in addition to merit awards. But there is no general answer since it is all dependent on the individual situation. Also remember if you have non WashU scholarships, unlike most schools, WashU does not deduct these from the sum awarded by WashU.

Congratulations princessbell. I knew you’d get SOMETHING!!!

noooooo they called while i was in class. then i got her answering machine when i called back. :(((((((((
i don’t know what i got! ahhhh

oh wow luked1629, I definitely also got a call during class too and tried calling back and just got a busy tone and continued on to play phone tag with Mario from admissions until we finally got hold of each other! You’ll know soon enough though, best of luck!

Okay, so the number she gave me was her office, but she called me a month ago to tell me I’m a finalist from her cell. Would it be rude of me to call that? I am very reluctant to do so, but my dad wants me to…

Can’t hurt. It’s not like they would revoke your award if you called her cell so I would say go for it! At worst, she’ll just say she’ll call you back!

Are any of you who have heard Danforth finalists?

I’m a Rodriguez

ervin, sorry

I hear it takes as long as three weeks for the Danforth!

Not true about the timeline for the Danforth. luked1629 - yes, call back on the cell phone, it will not be a problem.

Sorry, just what I heard this past weekend! I’m sure ST2 knows best, though.

acolombian28 - Did not mean to contradict you - just to provide as acurate info as possible. Dean Stahl loves making those phone calls. I am sure you will be a great addition to the WashU family. If you think you liked the weekend, you will absolutely love the next 4 years.

ST2 - I know you’re just trying to help with accurate information, no offense taken! I definitely can’t wait for fall!
