when should I expect to hear decisions on scholarships if I am to get one? Is there a set time period that they release that information?

Also, i submitted all the material the week before thanksgiving but on the howdy portal it still states that my application has not been received. Is this a reason for concern?

I can’t remember exactly when the scholarships are distributed. My daughter got a small one, but if I remember correctly, it came way after her acceptance. I am a little surprised you haven’t seen it received on Howdy by now. I would try to call in the morning - I bet there will not be anyone there, but maybe you can find out when they will be back after the holidays. I dont think there is reason to be concerned, but I would ask why it hasn’t been updated on Howdy.
Did you submit the application through ApplyTexas.org?

The funny thing is, my admissions applications took forever to be processed too. I am thinking that it will just take time to show up. I did apply through apply texas, and I also sent in the student profile form. However, there is one thing I am concerned about. I had sent a transcript and act scores to the university for my admissions app, but didn’t for the scholarship app thinking that they would already have that information on file. I read on one of their question answer pages that the admissions app and scholarship app are in a sense “together” so I’m hoping that I did not have to send in a second transcript. It would seem silly to have to send in two transcripts to the same exact mailing address when one should be sufficient.

I misunerstood the question. I do remember it taking longer for the scholarship info to show up - thinking the same as you, wondering if my daughter had made some mistake. I think you are fine, you only have to send one “set” of info for the scholarship and admission application. If you are still concerned, I don’t think a quick call would be a problem and if it would make you feel a little better knowing it is all in order - go ahead and call.

If you look at the bottom of your application page there is a document tab. That will tell you if they have been received even if they haven’t been processed. But when my daughter’s didn’t show up for a while, I finally clicked on the contact us tab and sent them a note asking about it. They responded very quickly and told me that her stuff had been received, to our relief. They were very nice about it. You might try.

klparker and oosmom: thank you so much for answering my question. I recently found out that everything was received just like it should have been. That last piece of info about the documents tab helped tremendously.

Is there a separate applications for scholarships? I thought that all the information is in the ApplyTexas ap. and that nothing further is needed unless they ask for it. Is that correct? From this thread, it almost sounds like there’s an additional application required.

the scholarship info went in at the same time, but the deadline was December 1st

you needed to send in a student profile form that was mentioned to you on the last part in the scholoarship app on applytexas. other than that there is no other requirement for scholarships.

OK, Thanks. We did all that.
