Scholarships

Hey everyone, I feel like I read on here somewhere that NYU's scholarship letters were all sent out already (as in weeks ago). Is this true or are there more to come still?

Getting really anxious about the financial aid package :x

I got my fin.aid package about 5 days after my acceptance in the winter.

Scholars w/e just ended. I met MLK, Deans and Pres?
Scholars. NYU went all out with programming and intro to key administrators
and staff. It was overnite w/ nice cruise around lower manhattan. Also small
seminar session onreadings given prior w/e for MLK. Real sense of nurturance and investment
in these talented and achieving youngsters.

I gather the Main schlarships have been offered. But that is not to say
There is no waitlist (unofficial) where some may be offered the scholarship
when initial recipients do not Accept bec they have other offers more attractive
to to them. Several parents i spoke to were not yet certain of their
children’s final choices pending other responses.

So hope may not be all lost for some lucky indivs yet!

GLTA!

ur saying that presidential scholars were also on this weekend? from what i heard, those weren’t sent out yet…

Weren’t acceptance packages and financial aid packages mailed out last Friday MORNING? Would that mean they would be arriving in Massachusetts homes this morning?

My daughter’s arrived, but can’t touch it until she gets home. Ugh! (in MA)

The financial aid letter is inside the acceptance packet. And yes, they were mailed out last Friday.

Got mine. 22k a year- that’s scholarships, work study, and loans. Ugh. Don’t think I’m going to be able to make this work.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

AlexaMT,
are you a part of any scholarship program?

if you didnt apply for finaid, can you still get scholarships?

YLMC- Um, I don’t think so. It just said “Tisch Scholarship”: $6,000 per semester. I guess it’s a talent scholarship as I’m going for musical theatre/acting.

Then it listed all my federal loans and work study and stuff and the how much they wanted my parents to pay. The COA has jumped to about 59k. It was only $52 on the website… ugh!

Hoping the best for all of you that the purple packet comes soon! I’m in Texas and got it so you all should hear very soon if not in the mail today.

COA’s today are absolutely obscene. Back in the dark ages when I went to college even private college tuition was NOT equal to a decent-sized annual salary! College sticker prizes have CLEARLY increased above and beyond the rate of inflation and then some. I can’t imagine what will happen if this continues.

D got hers today. Also MA.
Does anybody know if the Trustee Scholarship and J.Eckhouse Scholarship are for the 4 years or just freshman year?

So I got my whole NYU package today, but not my financial aid letter. I called the office and now I have to wait for another 2 days :(, idk why it was delayed esp. if I got my FAFSA in on time and everything.

How does this whole co signing thing work? And how bad is the interest on that? From what I understand, it’s like a parent or someone signs the loans out for you, but they don’t have the pay anything right? We’ll be dealing w/ that once we graduate?

Good luck to everyone, I’m so nervous, wish NYU had better fin aid for everyone! :(

I just got the Stern Scholarship and the J. Eckhouse Scholarship, so keep hope alive!
I thought I was in the lower applicant pool for Stern.

I got the Steinhardt Scholarship :)

Would you mind sharing how much the Steinhardt Scholarhsip is? Or PM? Someone posted one, but the next thing I knew it was gone. Thanks!

is it weird that someone from my school who lives in the same neighborhood as me in ny received his packet and i did not…?

Just got package. In it has the FA package with:

CAS scholarships of $19K + $35K in loans and work studies.

What do you guys think? decent or not good?

Good luck everyone.
