yeah i didnt get anything from NYU today

There’s a Stern scholarship? Wow I wish I applied for Financial Aid… How much is the scholarship?

The Stern Scholarship is for $3,500, at least the one I received.

My Stern scholarship was 7,500 for each semester. I’m assuming this is each year? Hopefully it is

Like I said, I believe I was in the lower end of the accepted student’s pool for Stern. It make sense that I as get a smaller merit scholarship than someone with better stats.
I hope it is each year. I think it would be safe to assume so as most scholarships are.

on your financial aid award letter, did it specifically say stern scholarship, b/c i got a trustee scholarship but nothing that said stern scholarship. jw

It specifically says “Stern Scholarship”.

and im assuming that this was based on merit? do u mind sharing your stats… i had a 1450, and 93 uw gpa… did you get a trustee scholarship?

Presidents Scholarship and MLK were only for CAS applicants right?

My stats are on this page. Post #39. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/882528-gigantic-official-rd-decisions-thread-2014-a-3.html

No, I did not get a trustee scholarship. I got a Stern Scholarship and a J. Eckhouse Scholarship.

My financial aid for Stern for this academic year (09-10) was 10k in a Stern Trustee Scholarship (5k a semester) and 2k per semester in work study (but they allot the entire amount at the beginning so you can earn as much as you can in the first). I did not take any loans nor did I qualify for grants or stuff…

From my understanding, there are many scholarhips and grants that are given out by NYU for those with financial aid and some for those without any need. A few are for a set amount (like MLK or Presidential) but most are for varying amounts based on what it is determined your total package will be. So if someone gets a Stern, Steinhardt or Trustee scholarship, it will be for whatever amount they want it to be. If they want you to attend, their total package will be better.

anybody know what the difference is between a stern and a trustee scholarship. and has anybody gotten both?

My Steinhardt Scholarship is $10,000 per year

Is the Trustee Scholarship merit based?

Almost nothing is merit based, yet everything seems merit based.

You are admitted twice if you don’t have money. You get admitted once if you spend and have money.

Isn’t that great.

I got in ED, and my parents called and asked about the FA. The people at NYU said that the school scholarships (Steinhardt, Stern, Tisch ect.) are based on a combination of merit and need, and that your FA package is going to be pretty much the same for all four years.

I got $15,00 Steinhardt scholarship, $2,000 Opportunity Grant, $4,000 Work Study and all the rest loans. It was much better then I expected.
