scholarships????

anybody know when the academic scholarships start coming out?

bumppp. any idea? the wait is excrutiating.

My son was last year, but if I recall correctly his acceptance said scholarship would follow and I think it was about 2 weeks until we received it.

Might not come until late January this year according to UPitt.

Late January?! My D was really hoping to hear something soon. Bummer!

I got my scholarship letter today - i got a full tuition scholarship!!!

Congrats hgblue!! Are you going to go to Pitt?

Congrats to you, hgblue!

Unfortunately for me, I was not aware of the scholarship a few weeks ago when I applied to another university under their binding early decision agreement. But if I do not get admitted early decision, pitt is absolutely, positively at the top of my list!

My daughter also received a letter today notifying her that she has received an OOS full-tuition scholarship! I am SO relieved (and so is my wallet)! Good luck to all!

For those of you that received full tuition, can you please tell us your stats…SAT, GPA, rank and such?

congrats. i recieved my decision today and i only got 12K a year. im OOS btw.

34 ACT, top 10%, blah blah blah.

im kinda ticked i only got 12k, was really hoping for the full tuition. congrats to those who got it!!

any way i can appeal my decision? id love to go to pitt, but wont if it costs double what my state school does. If i could get another 4 or 5k then my parents would consider sending me.

My d received the full tuition award as well. Pitt is looking very appealing.

Vikings3214 – are you an engineering major? If so, engineering dept. has their own scholarships and it stacks on top of the the scholarship from Pitt.

Congrats to all on your scholarship awards.

DS has never regretted his decision to attend Pitt and there is nothing like graduating debt-free from college :)

MTnest: Do you happen to know when the engineering scholarships come in the mail?

This was a few years ago but it all came within a few days of each other – full tuition and then engineering scholarship. Full tuition is great since it covers all tuition increases and the engineering scholarship pays for part of the room & board.

argh it sucks i didnt get full tuition. anybody know anything about appealing???

Vikings were you invited to apply for the chancellor’s scholarship?

The other school may be at the top of your list, but not being and early decision school itself, Pitt would very likely honor your admission/scholarship if you turned down a binding agreement elsewhere, if that was of interest to you. If you’d prefer Pitt, you should contact their admissions with that question to make sure, but I doubt there is anything preventing you from going to Pitt if that would be your preference over the ED school.
