For anyone applying for the chancellor’s scholarship, do you think that this essay question is referring to high school graduation, or college graduation?

“After graduation, of what value to you will your education be?”

D had that same question. She is just finishing up the application tonight. We decided that it means college graduation however that is just our guess!

Reporting in a full tuition scholarship. I actually received the notification on Wednesday November 22nd. It also came along with the Chancellor’s invite, so I’ll be doing what I can to get that.

Essays: Good enough
Teacher Recs: Didn’t send any to Pitt
Counselor Rec: Good enough
Hook (if any): If you check my bio information and the stuff above, you’ll see my “hook” is pretty dull. Maybe some athletic stuff.
Location/Person: Chicago Suburbs
State or Country: IL
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Asian/White
Gender: Male
Other Factors: Only 20 hours of volunteer service. I figure it’s disingenuous to be a good citizen just for college admissions. It’s also no fun
General Comments: My decision on attending depends on what Stanford, Harvard, and UChicago all say (my money says “no”). Nothing is set in stone depending on who says yes. At any rate, Pitt seemed like a neat school when I was in the area, and getting in with this sort of merit based financial aid is pretty cool.

Hblue-- did you hear about your ED. I think you can revoke it w/out penalty to your school if they haven’t given you a decision yet. You need to speak w/ guidance & admissions dept (which of course you will then be jeapordizing the decision.

Yeah I didn’t get any scholarship letters when I got my acceptance letter today. But it seems that only the full scholarships come with the letter. Hopefully a smaller letter will come in later.

Got my acceptance letter today, but it said they will review for scholarship consideration later. Hoping I’ll get a full tuition, as my stats are similar to many other full tuition students.

Do you guys think I am a good candidate for a merit scholarship third in class with a 2200 SAT? I haven’t gotten any information as of yet. I was accepted I think probably three weeks ago or so maybe a month. Does this mean I won’t get any?

i was told i was being considered for scholarship when i got my acceptance, over a month ago. i haven’t heard anything though. should i not expect to?

my M and CR on SAT was a 1470, although that seems a bit low compared with some of you Children o’ God.

Admittedly, I did spell Pittsburgh incorrectly at one point on one of my forms. Perhaps, this has ruined my scholarship chances.

Well, you’re in the zone. But I have noticed that Pitt seems to give more scholarships to out-of-staters, who couldn’t afford to attend otherwise because the OOS tuition is so high. But you might get lucky. Don’t give up hope yet.

Geez, I’m in state and had a 1490 SAT score out of math + CR and still no scholarship. Got my acceptance letter Dec. 8 and my UHC acceptance today. When should I expect word on scholarship? I was hoping for full tuition.

I have a 1470 SAT (Math and Reading only, a 2250 combined) and received a letter from the Admissions committee saying that they really liked my essay. I got accepted, but I haven’t heard anything from Pitt about scholarships. I have a 3.34 GPA (which probably hurts my chances) and I’m in-state. Any chance of getting scholarship money?
