My D was just admitted and offered $20,000 a year, which is great. But we were just wondering if there is a chance they could up the amount later. She got a 34 ACT, and has a 4.1 grade average, with good extracurriculars. It seems like the Zacharias scholarships are offered in the spring, so I didn't know if they ever waited to see all the people who were admitted and then decided to increase an offer. Ursinus seems like a very nice place, and I'm not at all trying to sound ungrateful, but money is of course a factor, and I was just wondering.

^^ I’d like to know about this as well. =P

I got my acceptance today, however aid is unknown. Stinks that money is such an important factor when it comes to attendance.

If you look back at last year’s acceptances, they merit money was increased in the Spring for a good number of applicants. I don’t know how much more you are looking for – $20k is pretty good – but I seem to remember $30k being the most offered.

similar situation for my son.
33 ACT
1470/2190 SAT
4.3 GPA
He was offered $17K
Should we go for a package deal?
I’m curious if they automatically increase or if you have to inquire about it and possibly send in more academic achievement info from senior year?
We are just like everyone else…more would be better.

i got my acceptance letter, but nothing about merit aid. do they always send the merit aid package with the acceptance letter? if so, i guess i received nothing :(

I received my letter in a small envelope with just a business return envelope and an acceptance letter. I was hoping for some merit aid, 3.6 gpa and 1340/2130 SATs. I guess that will come later if at all.

My kid got a letter in the fall, selected as a Zacharias Scholar. OTOH I know another kid with similar stats who did not get this award until March (in a different year).

i got my acceptance letter just today. no mention of merit aid =/

When D was accepted a couple of years ago, there was no mention of merit scholarships in the acceptance letter. Then in February she was invited to interview for a scholarship in early March. (She got 16K/yr). So maybe there is still a chance for those who haven’t heard yet.

I thought I had replied on a similar thread, must be losing my mind then haha.

I received my acceptance letter in a small envelope in December as well. About two weeks later I got another letter with aid info, so don’t be let down- I’m sure it’s on the way for you all =)

i was accepted in november and a few days later they gave me a letter with the merit money

for those wondering y they were not given much money with such great stats, i have a feeling it has to do with extra curriculars
