I have yet to receive any e-mails since I submitted. Is this something I should worry about? I’m from Michigan
I haven’t received any emails either. I think some regions get their results earlier? My region hasn’t even posted the winner announcement date so.
Hey! I also submitted some poetry (and just discovered this thread). When I emailed my region’s coordinator, they told me February 3rd was the results date, but obviously that depends based on your region.
lowkey idk what’s even up with the arizona scholastic a&w. no dates, nothing lol
@nephisto Maybe email your coordinator and ask?

Have the results for the Midwest region been posted yet?
Northeastern Region were released yesterday, I think.
It seems like all the results for every other region except mine, the Milwaukee region, have been announced? And they’d previously told me all results would be posted by February 3rd so I’m just like 8-|
@aesthetes Have you checked your affiliate webpage?
@LizzieSamuels I have - they haven’t even updated the Scholastic Awards section of their website since the 2015 awards.
@aesthetes On the Milwaukee webpage, it says “Students will receive notification by mail and email by dates TBD.” I’m 99% sure they postponed the results for some reason; maybe they’re behind on judging or something. Don’t worry though, this just means the results will come out later. I’m assuming they’ll come out early-mid February, as national judging begins in February and national notification is announced in March. And your region’s not the only region that’s behind; the Arizona region’s results haven’t come out yet either, so you’re not alone
@aesthetes oh you mean writing. Then yeah, in that case, your region’s writing results have not come out yet. I am in the same boat as you, except I’m worried about art. There wasn’t even any notification info on my affiliate webpage and no one responded to my emails so I’m here freaking out for 3 days since February 3
@aesthetes If you’re in art, the results are here https://mam.org/pdfs/scholastic-art-awards/ScholasticArtAwards2017.pdf
@jxl637 Ah thanks, it’s reassuring to know I’m not alone haha. And thanks for the link but I was in writing, not art.
@LizzieSamuels Hhhh that’s pretty much the same for me - no one will return my emails or calls so I’m just here tearing my hair out tbh.
It actually sounds like something I’d want to do, but I don’t know much of anything about it. Also I’m not sure my writing is good enough yet…? I like writing, but my fellow honoes classmates seem to be better at it than me.
@HS student that’s exactly how I felt, applied anyways, and got a silver key! I’d say find a teacher who can help you out (I did an independent study) and polish a lot.
Does anybody have any info on the summer programs? I’m interested in the programs around New York, as the city has always been a thing of obsession for me. Does anybody know about how difficult it would be to make the New Jersey or Writopia Labs?
My sister has a few pieces being considered for the national awards!
For those interested in writing I strongly recommend the Kenyon Young Writers Workshop and the Adroit Summer Mentorship program - the latter of which is free!
Adroit is especially helpful if you are looking to apply to UPenn as Peter LaBerge helps recruit for the Kelly Writer’s House! I know a bit (emphasis on the phrase “a bit”) about publishing. If anyone has any writing questions don’t hesitate to ask!
Nationally, I received portfolio silver, poetry silver, critical essay silver and the Gedenk Award for Tolerance (last year) if anyone is interested in knowing more about Scholastic. The awards ceremony is amazing and I hope you all make it to Carnegie hall! Best of luck!
