I got a gold medal for short story. To all who have gone, is attending the Carnegie Hall ceremony worth it? I’d have to miss several days of school.
I went two years ago (and will hopefully get a ticket to go this year), and it was a pretty neat experience (though it was my first time in NYC so I think the “being in NYC” part was even neater than the ceremony, hehe). The ceremony is nice, and there’s a reception the next day. It’s pretty cool - I mean, how many people can say they’ve accepted an award in Carnegie Hall? However, I wouldn’t do any expensive travel to get to get there…I probably wouldn’t fly to get there, but if you can get there on Megabus or something cheap, it’s worth it!
