I have a question about the awards at the regional level. My daughter was awarded a Gold Key and a Silver Key in art. She is also applying for a local scholarship that requires a packet of achievements for committee review. Is there some sort of certificate for the regional awards that she could include in her packet? Thanks!

I am an AP Art teacher in SC and she will receive a certificate and key pins at the awards ceremony. I am assuming you just found out in your state - we will not get our results for another week or so. The state ceremony awards the certificates and pins and you can copy those on a color printer and they look really nice to send off to the colleges. A Gold Key award is a first place state award in category, and a Silver Key award is like a 2nd place award in category. The Gold Key works will compete in National competition. You might want to repost this in the art area, too - I just happened to be browsing the financial aid posts and found your question.

Thank you so much for the information. She just found out about this and the scholarship packets are due when they get back from break. It sounds like she will not have anything official to use for her packet, so she will have to come up with something on her own. Thanks again and good luck to your students!

fishymom,
I would place a copy of the award listing sheet from the state site that shows her name/award/school in your scholarship packet - that should suffice I would think - with perhaps a note attached that she will receive her awards/keys on xxx date. She can get that information from her art teacher. Congratulations on her recognitions!
