Maybe I should just call them. But the last time I talked someone there, she specifically said to me, "Just remember: these people are artists...following deadlines is not their strongest suit."

Yeah...so for now I think I've just got to count on the insanity of writers.

don't be discouraged, guys! last year, i won a national scholastic writing award (entered in region-at-large), and i was not notified until the last week of april!!

I thought I would share some info I received from a friend at Scholastic today....The region-at-large writing awards have still not been mailed to everyone, and the national writing awards are not finished yet. So don't give up hope

I emailed a bunch of random people in the scholastic office today to ask if they had sent out info to the winners yet (as I see many others did as well:)) and they sent me back word that I won a gold award in poetry, a silver award for my writing portfolio, and the american voices (best of region) award. so i take this as proof that if you pester them enough, they'll tell you what you want to know. good luck to everyone else!

okay i e-mailed them and they told me this:

"National recipients have not yet been announced this year. Those who
earn national awards will receive notification by mail in the next 2
weeks."
