yeah, they did. I guess it does rely on the state.

Dude, congrats Morangotango!!! (btw, I love your nickname)

Region-At-Large. Let's see what happens. Good luck to all of you!

crosses fingers

NYC notification has begun!!

2 gold keys here!

One for photography portfolio and the other for a photography work!

congrats patios!

i'm just wondering, do you win money if you win a gold key or is that only for the national competition?

Only nationals.. so, i'm crossing my fingers!

we are in DC and haaent heard from region at large. i know the neighboring school district heard.

congrats! did you apply region at large? or with your school?

its april 7th - has anyone heard from region-at-large? my daughter hasnt heard anything in D.C. and i wonder if that means bad news?

a girl who won nationals last year from my school told me that i'd find out at the reception @ BMA whether or not i got anything in that category.

i don't know if that's true for this year, but i wouldn't be worried yet since scholastic seems to always be late with stuff.

"reception @ BMA"

What's that?

We haven't heard anything from the region-at-large either... And the check (the submission fee) was not cashed, which makes me worry...

i didnt think to check the submission fee. good idea. but i sent an email to scholastic yesterday asking if region-at-large decisions have gone out. good luck.

I don't think they answer e-mails... Could you post here if you hear anything from them?

yes, of course. i emailed lisa feder-f..... she has always answered. so i expect to hear something tomorrow or tuesday. fingers crossed.

ah, the nyc reception is held at the brooklyn museum of art. should have clarified, apologies

its tuesday, no word back, no reply to my email. still the day is young and no news is good news.

i emailed them as well and haven't gotten a response.
i would call if i were you (although to be honest, the last time I called they gave me blatantly wrong information, so i don't know how much good it will do)

just realized you - vegangirl - are on both threads. who did you call? number and name, if you dont mind? this waiting is insane.

painter2,
I sent you a PM

just got an actual person at scholastic. she told me all the people in the dept who had access to the info about winners were out of the office until next week. also said the letters for winners of RAL would be in the mail soon and people would have them by the end of next week. do they keep saying that? and the date keeps moving?

hello all - i spoke to lisa feitel today at scholastic, a helpful and thoughtful woman. scholastic dealt with an overlaod of submissions this year. letters were sent - i think she said last week - to a central mailing facility - a buisness that does ths sort of thing - to handle the huge load of replies that they had to send out. she is very surprised and unhappy that people are still waiting. bottom line, the letters are in the mail.
