Thanks! Is their contact detail on the Scholastic site?
@LizzueSamuels The results vary by region. On the Scholastic Art & Writing website, there’s a tab that says guidelines and deadlines, and if you enter the zip code of your school, an information page of when your region’s results come out will pop up. Some regions, like Arizona’s writing region, don’t have specific info on the results date, so in that case, you should e-mail your local region’s coordinator.
@EKolin Their contact detail should definitely be on the Scholastic website, under the local region’s webpage from the guidelines and deadlines tab.
My account says, "Congratulations!
This year we received more than 330,000 works. As a Gold or Silver Key recipient in 7-11 grade, you may qualify for a Scholastic Awards Summer Scholarship (SAS Scholarship) to attend a summer art or writing program."
However, my local guideline says that I should have received a letter by the end of January, which I didn’t. I also did not see my name on the Northeast Region-At-Large list (I am from Pennsylvania). Did this happen for anyone else? I’m a bit nervous
@hannahvyvy
I had a scare like that too. Go to My Uploads on the SAS application thing on your account. It says “Gold and/or silver key works” and if you recognize it as one of your submissions, then that’s the awarded one.
@hannahvyvy
However, it won’t say which key. So you can go to the Award PDF and try searching your last name to find out.
Hi, I’m in the NYC region. Is there any chance they haven’t yet loaded all of the names into the spreadsheet of nyc regional winners? Just wondering because the document seems to be 35 pages long and last year it was 50 pages long. Also, last year it seemed the names were not all added in at once and the list grew later in the day. Guess I’m just holding out hope:-)
@RoseGarden8 On the NYC region’s website, it says, “All award recipients and their primary educators are located HERE. This list is sorted alphabetically by school, and then alphabetically by student.” I’m pretty sure that those 35 pages contain all the winners’ names. Sorry if your name isn’t on there, hopefully next year brings you great results
@RoseGarden8 And if you didn’t win anything, that’s okay because remember that great writers like JK Rowling experienced a TON of rejection; it’s all about how you get back up. and btw, if it makes you feel any better, out of five things i submitted, I didn’t win anything for three of them
Thanks jx1637. You’re right. I won a national medal last year and I felt like my writing was better this year, but oh well.
I’ll try again next year. Good luck to you!
@RoseGarden8
Don’t worry fam. I was rejected from a writing program but got awarded in this contest. I used the same pieces. It really is luck. Don’t give up! Keep entering in other contests!
@RoseGarden8
I didn’t get anything for my other piece either.
@hannahvyvy
Hey, did you ever figure out what happened?
Lol here you all are rejoicing about awards and I have yet still no idea whether I won something or not. I emailed my coordinator one week ago and I still have no response. I’ve checked various other zip codes and my region must be the only one who doesn’t have any info about notifications. XD
@AlmightySadist I am curious about the SAS application thing and My Uploads tab you talked about in your account. I can’t seem to find that in mine
Congrats on your award! And thanks for the encouragement.
