<p>I just received notification that I won the Gold Key at National level for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. How good will this look on my transcript?</p>

<p>So this is a big deal? All the forms they sent me are very imposing.</p>
<p>I got that last year...I'd already gotten into Cornell ED though, so it never got a chance to go on my transcript. I really don't know how prestigious it is, but the little key is nice.</p>
<p>I only sent it in because I've been writing privately for ages and I wanted to see if I was good enough to stand up next to other passionate writers. Now I see these forms they sent me with questions like, "Will you be willing to talk to the press about your work?" that's making me wonder if this is a big deal. Finding out it beefs up my app. would be a wonderful bonus.</p>
