scholorship QS

If we have a decent class rank such as the Top 5% and if we have tons of ECs and teacher Rec, do we get any type of scholorships? If so how much?
I mean this for University of Texas @ Austin.

well…the number of scholarships offered is EXTREMELY limited and many of the merit scholarships that are offered have financial need as a criterion (according to my guidance counselor, whom I would consider very accurate and well-informed, that means family income is under $60k).

There are a few that don’t have any need requirement, such as some of the Texas Exes scholarships as well as a few of the OSFS scholarships.

The maximum value of a merit scholarship from the university is $10,000 (Terry foundation and Texas Exes Award for Scholarship and Leadership). These are VERY limited–around 10 apiece I believe.

In short, don’t expect any money from the university unless you are from a low-income home.

Apply for outside scholarships and need-based aid as well. You may have a shot at winning one or getting some extra money to pay.

Yeah, UT is pretty stingy on merit based financial aid. -.-

Theres no way for you to get one from the university.. look outside

scholarships are very very very rare at UT. the engineering department gives out some small merit based ones if you have a really good SAT (like 1450+) and extracirriculars, but other than that they’re hard to come by.

I heard that UT offers the least scholorships outta all the colleges in Texas…

I wouldn’t doubt that at all. The only better schools for a lot of the majors are private, and even they give out more scholarships. And the worse schools give out money to attract people. If I were them, looking at it from a purely economic standpoint, there is a long line of people willing to come who can pay, so why offer scholarships(remember purely economical).

That is true…But UT is the only choice for me (as of rit now)
I want to get into their business program (I think the undergrad is Top 10 in US)…So there is not much choice. I hope I get into the Business Program. Wat college u plannin on going or r u in college already?

Terry Foundation Scholarship

Just received a letter from UT that there will be approximately 80 students selected for this award. Currently, approx. 400 applicants are under consideration.
