School clubs, EC's etc.

So at my school were only aloud to join 2 clubs a year (including NHS etc..), Were ONLY alout AP's Junior and senior year, you can only take 2 AP's junior year, we have Horrid counselors that don't help us..

this stresses me to the max with the factor of being an upcoming senior,
I joined more then two clubs but got kicked out because our school is REALLY uptight
will this hurt me?

Maybe you should do some stuff outside of school.

If your school has a limit on the number of clubs you can join and number of APs you can take, it won’t be held against you. 2 clubs/2 APs is definitely not a lot.

If your school is highly ranked than they have a plan, so just work within the plan. If however, your school is clueless then just do EC’s outside of your school and think about taking on leadership or starting something that will interest other students and help your community. Or - get an interesting job (if you can)

Make sure your High School Profile states clearly that participation in clubs and APs is restricted. I would also ask your guidance counselor to note this on his/her recommendation. And, as others have said, look for extracurricular activities/community service that you really care about outside of school.

I have a lot of community service, and sports/other activities Outside of school. During senior year i’ll be holding an internship position.

Thanks, I’ll definitely ask them to note on recommendations and such.

What other things will look good do you think?
