School/College?

I'm in the process of finishing up my supplement, and I have one minor question. My dad went to JHU for undergraduate, and I'm obviously noting that in the section on the supplement, but I'm not positive which school he went to. He says he's pretty he went to the College of Arts and Sciences, but his diploma doesn't specify. Rather, it says "conferred by the faculty of Engineering"; confusing me even more is that it's a BA rather than BS which is what I'd expect to be "conferred by the faculty of Engineering". He majored in Mathematical Sciences, which is now called Applied Math and taught in the school of engineering, but he said he thinks the major was renamed and moved to the school of Engineering shortly after he graduated. He also said that he thought the school of Engineering itself wasn't founded until after he graduated, which is clearly not true after a quick Google search and mostly why I'm wary of completely trusting him.

Does anyone with an extremely detailed knowledge of JHU's history possibly know where the Mathematical Sciences major was located in 1981? It's pretty silly and unimportant but at this point I've become kind of interested...

EDIT: I seem to have answered my own question shortly after posting this. The Department of Applied Math website says that, though it's located the School of Engineering, students in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering can major in Applied Math, and that the department confers BAs for COAS students and BSs for the SOE students. Which, in retrospect, is obvious. Sorry, it was a stupid question...

Ha, interesting thread nonetheless.
