My D has been accepted at UT Austin, BU and Tulane. She is waitlisted at NYU Tisch. We know that bot the film and music programs at UT and BU (and NYU) are top notch. However, it seems to be difficult to major in both at either of those schools. D would probably have to minor in music while taking private lessons in composition.
Tulane’ digital media program is smaller but very dynamic. Most of the instructors are also filmmakers. The program seems to be hands on from the get go. There is also a very active film/tv in Louisiana and Tulane has a strong alumni program. Additionally, D would be able to major in music composition. They require a double major if you major in Digital Media. The music department is also small and not known as a “top program” but the professors seem to be very highly regarded nationally in the music world. Also, NOLA has a thriving music culture.
I have not seen a lot on these forums about Tulane for film. I was wondering if anyone else had any opinions.
Thanks.
