My school is a charter school and it doesn’t offer any honors classes. We only have regular and AP classes. My school is structured so that all students of a certain grade have the same schedules. For example, all juniors take regular chemistry.
I’m a junior and I’m planning to self study a couple more AP’s in addition to the 3 that I’m supposed to take this year. In all four years, I can only take 7-9 AP courses. :-S Will this hurt my overall application? Is there anything I can do to improve/fix this? Thank you all!
If your school doesn’t offer those classes, colleges won’t hold it against you.
I went to an “alternative” school that had no Honors, or AP’s! Luckily, I’m out of this school now, as it was ridiculously easy.
The above post is true, colleges won’t hold this against you. Although you could always take classes at a local CC, or online.
Agreed, colleges will not hold it against you. FYI, many elite prep schools/magnet schools/charter schools offer no honors or AP classes and their students go to many fine universities.
Okay thank you all so much! It’s really relieving to hear that.
