<p>I want to transfer from a community college to UCSD but discovered they only offer my major (anthropology) for a B.A. not a B.S., should I choose a different school. I figure I need the more advance degree since I plan on going to dental school.</p>
<p>The difference between a BA and a BS is almost entirely arbitrary. One is not a “higher degree” than the other. In fact, some schools only offer the BA or only offer the BS.</p>
<p>No big deal. The math and physics major undergraduates at Berkeley can only get BA degrees; that does not prevent them from going on to graduate or professional school.</p>
