My school doesn't rank students. In a way I am glad because I know I probably wouldn't be as high up as I hope because my school is 25% Asian and not to be stereotypical but reallllllllllllllllly competitive. I mean, we have 20-30 kids going to Ivies every year, and kids who are taking 2-3 courses online a year so they can take more and more APs.

Anyways back to my original question, am I at a disadvantage if I don't have a rank?

Not at all. Universities look at your resume in the context of your school. In the same way that it’s not a bad thing that you’ve taken 2 AP’s because your school only offers those 2 AP’s, they will not penalize you for the decisions that your school makes. Don’t worry about it.

My school ranks, but not really. I’m number one in my class, but technically so are 15 other people. Does this mean I can or can’t put my rank as “1” on apps?
